Everything you need to know about E Collar Training

This book is excellent. Everything you need to know. Larry Krohn's video on how to use a prong collar the right way changed my life 5 years ago, and made my last dog so enjoyable, and he never pulled on it after a short training with it, and therefore it wasn't inhumane at all. I would never hurt my dogs, I love them so much! When well trained, they live life to the fullest because they get to be included in nearly everything, and are a complete JOY to have. I have had very well trained dogs in the past and now its my turn to train my new doberman pup. I dont have tons of time and wanted straight to the point instructions on how to use an e collar, and I really trust Larry from my past experience. The layout of this book is so SIMPLE AND CONCISE. THANK YOU LARRY! He only includes what you need to know and some tips amd encouragement. The book is only 60 pages, font is on the medium-large size, very clearly written: three phases. The conditioning phase, intermittent phase, and maintenance phase.

I was a little disappointed when I got this guide and it wasn't as thick as I prepared for. But it is EXACTLY what I needed. I have a 14 month old pit who cannot focus around people even after expensive training courses I've taken with him and almost one year of training at home with him. I had been wary of using an e collar but was confident enough in his temperament that I purchased one but was afraid to start, even after watching a lot of videos. Especially since my dog understands his commands, he just doesn't always want to do them. This book is a quick reference to understanding how to use the collar. And the basic premise of the book is to help you incorporate it into your already existing training methods. The collar should not fear the dog into acting, it should simply be a reminder to the dog to perform the task given to them. There are do's and don't's. Basic rules as to how you should work up to working off leash. This was one of the biggest things I needed. Was glad to see it written out. He also mentions "act of God corrections" which is something else I needed to know that I'm glad he addressed, since I hadn't seen that mentioned in any sort of training video I watched. It's a handy guide and I'm glad I purchased it. It has given me more confidence in using the collar. Larry preaches building a connection between your dog and yourself, with the collar being an extension of that. The more you work with your dog and the collar, the more he is going to trust you and the more powerful your relationship is going to be. If you want a guide to fully training your dog from day one, DO NOT start here. If you have a semi trained dog that needs the extra help of an e collar to help he/she live a more enriched life, this is an amazing little tool that I would highly recommend purchasing.

I'm grateful for Larrys style of teaching with the e collar only using it at a stimulation level to get the dogs attention. And very happy about the fact that he's doing his duty to promote proper use of the ecollar. This book is good for the beginner to introduce the dog to the e collar. That's about it. Do not buy this book expecting to learn anything about teaching the dog any types of commands. You are much better off watching his videos. In all honesty the book is very misleading with this title. It should be titled.. " Introducing your dog to the ECollar". It is NO WAY near "everything you need to know". Also the way it is written is very confusing. I actually wanted a highlighter just so I could go back and see only the useful info. He starts telling you a process, then starts telling a story from the past, then goes back to the process. This book should be reorganized. I felt like I was hearing someone tell me a story over a beer and was constantly going off track. I can appreciate him for who he is. However when you're writing a book that people pay for especially to train a dog with a tool that could potentiality harm them if not used properly, I would take more time with it before releasing it. Also leave out the part about the Kangal dog. The book honestly should be 3 stars. The 4th is for the fact that he promotes proper use and stresses that training should be done without it first, and the ecollar is to hone an already trained dog. I feel many were hoping to find out how in this book, however you won't.

I have trained my dogs using e-collar, and in order to do it right researched extensively, found an expert mentor and watched a bunch of YouTube videos. All so I could distill what Larry has written so succinctly and and honestly in his book. If you train your dog following Larry's instructions, and please read the entire book through at least once, you will have a well trained dog, who can run off leash around distractions. Been there, done that, with reactive-dominant dogs, and dogs that have extreme chase drive. Like many, I tried the click and treat and redirect and quickly decided I needed to actually figure out what worked. While e-collar isn't a magical solution, it certainly opens the door to off leash freedom for me and my pack. E-collars are literally lifesavers. Thanks, Larry, this is a book that badly needed to be written, and is put together in a short, easy to digest format. Some complain about the writing, I like it. It's train-of-thought, honest and clear writing, and works for me. Larry's a true dog professional and a dog lover, and I appreciate his willingness to learn, adjust, and put it all out there, mistakes included! Buy it, read it, and apply it. Your dog will thank you and even an experienced trainer will learn something.

Larry Krohn is an amazing all-around trainer and a real expert using the E collar humanely. This book was published originally in 2017 and anyone who thinks the price is debatable is crazy. He keeps it real simple he speaks frankly, regardless what media you follow him on or see on YouTube.

One of the best dog training books you can get. This is only one small but important aspect of what Larry Krohn has to offer. Follow his videos on YouTube and enjoy training and having a perfect dog. Also, read any of the books from the "Monks of New Skete.

Este libro es para una orientación más amplia si empiezas a usar e collar pero creo recomendable que sea como complemento a la dirección de un entrenador canino. Te ayuda a entender mejor el porqué pero no reemplaza al coach. Muy fácil de leer pues lo explica con lenguaje accesible y no tan técnico

Super livre, très utile et assez facile à lire si l’on comprend l’anglais évidemment. Seul petit bémol peut-être, le format un peu grand, mais pas bien gênant
