works as advertised, A+++, took some getting used to briefly
WOW. so i have been splitting pills for some years, one is a coated sort of rounded pill and the other is a regular scored uncoated white pill. i needed a pill cutter for the coated one. The white one i try to do with my finger nails because the pill cutter doesn't do a good job of it. always frustrating, one out of 20 times it comes out about right. so i have continued to use a cheap one i got at CVS and later i got the same kind on Amazon. It worked ok, not great, in the sense it didn't cut evenly and i needed evenness, pretty uniform doses. I got another one on Amazon, basically the same functioning as the first one, not very even, and the blad gets dull so that it gets worse over time. But the blade would wear out before too long. Now, in the past month my previously healthy almost 13 year old dog got right sided congestive heart failure and severe pulmonary hypertension and he's supposed to be on 4 meds, one of which i have to split--the form it comes in is called "Quads" and it's scored to cut in quarters. Doing it with my finger nails was too inexact. The usual pill cutter about the same. So i came to Amazon and i only looked at the ones with 4.5 star reviews. This was one of the top reviewed ones. The reviews sounded really good. And there was the ability to cut multiple pills at once. Too good to be true, yet so many happy reviewers. $30??? ok, it's my dog and he's in real trouble and needs his meds to be right. so i ordered it. It was delivered very fast . So, i got into trying it out right away. This is probably just me, brain dead from recent stress. but i had a hard time figuring out how to open it in order to put the pills in. The instructions on the box didn't help. i found a video on line and still didn't have the concept of it, the specific way you push on the ends of the cutter to have it open up. Slowly, i found how to do it but then would immediately forget, even watching it on the video. For me, it was counterintuitive. But finally i started getting the feel for it and the concept of it. not rocket science but for me, at that point in time, it took me about 20 to 30 minutes to get it figured out solid. i experienced frustration. No doubt just the difficulties i have been having getting the medications right, like giving it to him and then later finding it on the floor (one of the three pills) , or me just forgetting to give all of them to him, there are 4 different occasions throughout the day. i sometimes outright forgot, even setting a timer. So i got a great app that reminds you which also took a long time to get set up but now is good. i really don't think it's that hard to open this cutter to put pills in it, i think my difficulties were caused by my anxiety unrelated to the pill cutter. i was pushing on the sides the way i thought it should work and nothing happened. press real hard, no response. So once i could easily open and close it, i followed the instructions and put several pills in it. i hadn't really thought i wanted a multiple pill cutter, just a well functioning single pill cutter would be a dream come true. The first cut i made was uneven. i tried it again more carefully and it was as close to perfect as i could want. I got a bunch more, all excellent, so now i have a big collection of doses and i don't have to think about it anymore. Thank you Multiple Pill Splitter for greatly improving my quality of life. I then went to my own pills, the coated ones that are hard as a rock. they are rounded, no flat surfaces. so ididn't think they could be cut accurately in the position this pill cutter uses. i put a bunch in there and they were split as equally as i could need, i couldn't see difference in them, not what i'm used to. Before this pill cutter, i was always taking the larger piece and breaking a bit off of it to add to the smaller piece. :( Now, i have a huge collection of evenly cut half pills. This is one of those really good product experiences that makes me feel happy when i think about it. It totally works, way better than hoped for or imagined. i didn't even realize how wonderfut it would be to have a supply of already split pills and not have to even think about cutting them. i have only used it on those few attempts on the day i got it so i don't know if it holds up, but i can see that i'm not even going to have to use it very often because it cuts so many at once so i'm expecting it to last. If i have any unreasonably negative experiecnes or unsupported customer service, i'll update the review, but i do not expect to have any problem. Solid easy to use multi pill cutter with great blade.

Love It!@
I love this! It splits pills in half evenly. Huge find. Can do several at a time. All even, no crushing. Feels like a stapler. Downsides: Hard to store because it is big and can accommodate a lot. The top rocks so you need to make sure it's somewhat even. The pill holder part wants to slide back too fast. That's annoying and interferes with getting the pills lined up. Have to hold it. Overall, I do really like it!

Splits small pills quickly, accurately, and easily
The Pillcut original Multiple Pill Splitter is a game changer if you regularly cut pills. I only need to cut pills in 1/2 but do so regularly. It is easy to useโjust put pills on it (may be more tricky if you cut 1/2s into 1/4 and need to line them up just so). There is a little bar that slides into place, also easy, that ensure the pills stay in place when they are cut. Then you press the top down evenlyโpush in the center, not on the end. You have perfectly cut pills. It is the same level of work as the normal single-pill cutter, but it is way more accurate and you can use it to cut several pills at once to save time. I love this product and would recommend to anyone who regularly cuts pills. It is accurate, easy, and quick. I think a person with limited mobility, such as difficulty holding smaller items or bending their fingers in a full range of motion, could use it. I think it works way better than the normal type of single-pill cutter, because the rubbery V-shaped area in those doesnโt hold pills nearly as firmly and accurately as this does. This is for multiple pills, but you can use it for a single pill too if you needed/wanted to. Worth the money to buy!!

Works pretty great for tiny tablets!
Works pretty great for tiny tablets. See photos below (white tablets โ ambien sleep med). Really tiny. It didnโt cut them quite as evenly as I wouldโve liked but it didnโt crush them either. If you need perfect precision, you may need to find another solution (compounding pharmacy that makes custom meds/dosages, etc). The last photo shows another med, not quite cut evenly. Pretty great job with the tiny meds in general though!

Life-Changing for Small Pills โ Accurate, Easy, and a Huge Time Saver
I cannot say enough good things about this multiple pill splitter. I have been using a one-pill-at-a-time splitter on tiny pills for my husbandโs heart medication, and it has been an absolute nightmareโuneven cuts, pills flying everywhere, and so much wasted time and frustration. Today, for the first time, I was able to split multiple pills at onceโand not just a few. I split an entire bottle quickly, easily, and with incredible accuracy. Every pill was evenly cut, and the process was smooth and stress-free. This product has taken such a burden off my shoulders. It saved me time, reduced waste, and gave me peace of mind knowing the doses are accurate. I truly canโt recommend it enough. Thank you so much for creating this product. I appreciate it more than you know!

ABSOLUTELY the best pill cutter. ๐
I have to give my cat 3 pills in the morning and 2 at night. 2 are usually hard, one is soft and tends to powder in every other splitter I've used. I cut the larger hard pill in 1/2 every day, 1 small hard pill in 1/4 every other day, and the larger, softer pill into 1/4 every four days. The soft pill (pink) used to only split into 1-2 usable pieces with other pill cutters, sometimes 3 if it was the first 1-3 times cutting. I bought this 11/15/16 and it's still going strong and cutting the pills nicely. It has a spring in the bottom and small "teeth" on the top to hold the pills steady while splitting them. I haven't had any trouble with it scraping the softer pill-it holds them gently but firmly. I can even split the softer pill lengthwise without shattering it. *Extra large pills like calcium supplements may not fit properly, but if you just want to make them easier to swallow and you're not worried about exact dosages you can turn them sort of diagonally and cut them that way-it may shift as you cut it, but I got the knack for it. Some tips: especially with very small pills that you need to 1/4 and oblong pills that you need to keep horizontal but even and straight (like the pink one in the pics), it makes it easier to nudge them into place with a toothpick or fork tine. It just takes the slightest of nudges to shift the odd pills, and it helps if you open the walls the teeniest bit for them to move around. Also, sometimes the tiny pieces will fall into one of the holes-just turn it over and tap it and it will fall out. I think this works best cutting 5-7 pills at a time, but when I cut the small pills into 1/4 I cut them one at a time. It seems to cut cleaner when any grooves are facing down. The only downside is the price ($30) BUT so worth it for all the money I saved not having to buy a new cutter every 2-5 weeks (depending on the brand), and not having to buy 2x the pills because the other pill cutters kept powdering half the pill.

The BEST and Only Pill Splitter You Will Ever Need - for Pills of ANY Shape!!
This is, hands down, the *best* pill splitter that I have *ever* used! Now, you may be thinking "$30 for a pill cutter??" Well, let me tell you that it is worth *every* *single* *penny*! I have been splitting pills (along with hairs and infinitives) for decades. I have worked in both the medical and pharmaceutical fields. In other words, I know from pill splitters. Not to mention being a mom for nearly 40 consecutive years (my kids are 20 years apart). Now, the typical pill splitter is perfectly adequate for a while (they are cheap, and eventually break) IF you do not need to split pills very often. And IF you do not need to worry quite so much about precision. And IF you don't ever need to split a pill smaller than in half (for example into quarters). And IF you are only splitting round, fairly flat (and ideally scored) tablets that are not enteric-coated (the hard, candy-coating-like shell). But if any of these conditions are not met, let alone two or more, you will quickly find yourself out of luck. If the tablets are very hard, they will not split cleanly, and much may splinter or shatter off, leaving you trying to make a sliver of a pill into the correct dosage by adding the bits (or powder!) that broke off during the splitting. If your tablet is not flat, but rather round, the pressure will cause it to wobble and go off-center. And if your tablet is not round, all bets are off. (For reference, I'm talking here about this sort of pill splitter: Apex Pill Splitter (I also purchased that one, so it's a fair comparison).) I also purchased another high-end splitter, based on some of its reviews. Plus, I found its shape and function unique and intriguing. That one is this pill splitter: " The Equadose Pill Splitter. The Best Pill Cutter Ever! " - which says right in the title that it is "the best pill cutter ever." My mistake, I should have remembered, as the saying goes, that self-praise is no recommendation at all. My review of that pill splitter includes "I eagerly loaded the first amitriptyline into the Equadose, and immediately ran into problems because it was nearly *impossible* to get the pill to stay still between the pincers. Once I finally had it centered, I closed the blades, and... the pill had moved so that it had been cut off-center and so was divided into a piece that was approximately 2/3s of the tablet AND the remaining 1/3 was *crushed* and unusable!" Now, by contrast, *this* pill splitter that you are considering right here right now - this "Multiple Pill Splitter" by Pillcut - is *brilliant*. It had arrived at the same time as the others, and I put the rest of that amitriptyline into it (6 pills at a time!) and it cut them in half cleanly, easily, precisely, and, dare I say it, beautifully. If I'd needed to I could have then rotated them a quarter turn and split them all into quarters just as readily. I promptly gave away the other pill splitters - yes, even the one that I had spent $30 on. If you are on the fence about spending $30 on a pill splitter: if you spend it on *this* one I promise that you won't be disappointed.
