What is that red button on the back? what is that for and how it works?

The red button on the back of the clock is for the Christmas carol music. When you press it it plays the Carol that is next in line. If you want your clock to match the time for the Christmas carol just press the red button until you get to the clock time that matches the Christmas carol.

Does this sing songs or play bells?

It plays songs. It’s kind of a bell singing melody but it’s definitely more of playing songs rather than just a bell chime. We love ours! Totally gets the Christmas spirit going!!!

bought christmas clock last week. music does not woek

One of the batteries runs the clock, the other battery makes the music. Make sure both batteries are put in correctly. Also the clock only makes music when the sensor in the front of the clock "sees" light. Therefore, you need to put the clock near a light source.......a window or a lamp. Once the light source is gone (it's nighttime or the lamp is turned off) the clock will not play.
