This book went on like a story and told us how to start, where to go and what to do. Although from my perspective it's a very tough concept to be understood easily. But this book gave us the confidence that yes, it can be done.

Very clear on the applications for the technique . Put into practice very quickly with results.

I bought this book because it was required reading for an operations management class. I loved it! It gave me a better understanding of the processes of the value stream. It's a short read but full of information on how to improve processes. It doesn't just apply to manufacturing, but services as well. I am the type of person who values saving money and perfecting how to do things. This book validated my beliefs that there is a way to reduce waste. I was afraid that this book would intensify my need for perfection, but it did not. What it did was help me understand that I can get close to perfection as long as I understand the process. I highly recommend this book.

Best clarification of this excellent tool around. Covers the philosophy and principles as well as the detail of implementation with amazing clarity. It's fabulous to have such clarity on the use of this tool for the service sector in particular. My only criticism is that the authors really emphasise the importance of ideal practices. However, the realities for many improvement professionals are far from ideal. Some advice on how to manage such situations would have been very valuable.
