How erasable is the blue lead? Does it erase completely?

They erase well but like most carbon lead they leave a residue. But the point of this pencil is not having to erase, ink work goes smoothly right over your lines. The photo graphic process and some scanners (black and white, PIC setting) can't see the non-reproductive blue lines. So it saves you the last step and keeps the paper surface undamaged by the eraser.

Depending how much pressure you use, it is both. I think maybe like HB. Hope this helps.

Not really. With a high quality eraser you can get most, but not all. That is, there will be a trace amount left. Also, I find this lead on the orange side. Not a true, deep red. Hope that helps.

Brilliant pencil leads

I've tried so many different blue pencils leads at 2mm and these have been the best by far. They are quite sturdy and don't shatter at the slightest pressure. They sharpen nicely and the colour is perfect for construct work on drawings.
