Likes: Ratio does not change once pin is inserted, sharpish points, very light and easy to handle, easy to adjust ratio. Dislikes: Only fixed ratios available, arms not rigid enough (first one I bought had misaligned points at one end, tried to bend into shape and just snapped - only plastic after all but I still bought another one for the price), arms not quite tight enough so can move slightly between photo and painting even with only slight pressure.

I own a brass one which is heavy and although nice to look at, a bit cumbersome to use. So I bought a plastic one which will lighten the load of my mobile art kit. I haven't got round to using mine yet but as a beginner painter it should be a great help for portraits. I bought one with a cover to protect it but in honesty did really struggle to get it out first time. I’m hoping it will loosen up with use otherwise it will have been an unnecessary extra cost. Mine arrived straight, not bent like some others. Looking forward to using it.

This is the first time I used them and very useful and would not be without it now. Comes with a very nice case to protect the divider . It's a indispensable tool to someone who can't draw and is value for me compared to the more expensive metal ones. Great for scaling down objects on paper and the graduation holes make it easy to achieve accurate proportions every time. I have since taught my nephew who is 12 how to use and he has enjoyed creating life like drawing to assist with his art work.

No scale markings on the plastic instrument itself, only on the box - which is unfortunate. The clips don't lock the tool in position very tightly either. Also the differently coloured locking pieces are identical and just serve as spares. The seller has now contacted me twice, the first time to offer a refund and the second time a refund and a replacement. The item is still poor quality and less usable than it could be. Selling them with an overly tight case doesn't change that.

I like to use things for a while before I write a review, but this clever little piece of plastic has become part of my art kit in just a few days. I'm relatively new to art, and I used to find myself rubbing out as much as actually drawing. But this divider has really changed all that. Whether I'm drawing to real size, or to scale, it takes seconds to check I've got the main parts of my drawing in the correct position before adding the detail. Scaling my work is now ridiculously easy - no more getting the calculator out (yes, I'm a perfectionist !). Do keep hold of the box though as there's a diagram on it that shows you how the holes in the divider relate to the relative scales. One last thing that's good about this being made of smooth plastic - it doesn't scratch your screen. So, if you're working off an image on your tablet, etc. you can place the divider points on the screen without a care in the world.

Desperately disappointed. Yes it’s a great tool if you don’t have to use all the steadiness in the world to get from a to b just to maybe get a near enough measurement and repeat and repeat and repeat. It’s shoddy cheap and flimsy… no tightness… just… Why… ??? Why oh why in this day and age… 🙈🙈🙈 does design have to be sooooo rubbish…. It’s like a joke. I hear you say “ design one yourself “ Well I wouldn’t be writing a review if I was the designer… PLUS…. I did not recieve the tube for it go in… PLUS I did send a message and no response !!! You give up in the end ( I don’t normally ) but in this occasion I did… Because the tube container wasn’t going to make the tool work any better. !!!! So on this occasion …. Make one yourself 🤣

Great proptional divider tool for drawing with scale. I wanted one of these to help with my art work and model making but it's the kinda thing I wasn't going to use all the time so was looking for something cheap and does the job and this ticks the box and has a loverly carrying case also.

I was a bit disappointed as I didn’t realise it would be plastic! But it still does the job. Note to self, read the write up before buying!

This tool has helped me a lot to make my drawings the correct proportion. I can take any smaller photo or newspaper photo and make it smaller or larger. Sometimes you just do not catch that something is out of proportion until you have gotten far into the drawing. This tool helps you start the drawing with precision. And I use it through the whole process to make sure I am on track after changes. Such a simple, inexpensive tool that works wonders.
