Do you have to take the top off to get a normal size can in?

Yes, the top of the cooler dips in slightly which keeps the can in place when you are drinking. However, that means the top must be removed each time you wish to insert or remove a can.

Will a yeti 16oz coozie extender work on this coozie?

I believe the Yeti would be too tall. This koozie fits a 12 ounce soda can very snugly. It has a screw on top that extends over the top of the can about three quarters of an inch.

Can you fit “tall boy” cans in these? Like the 15-16oz can size Guinness comes in?

Not this size, no. But they make them for tall ones!

will an 11.2oz can fit or will it be too loose?

it fits a regular soda can snugly (12 oz). Smaller cans might be a little loose, larger cans will not fit, but 11.2 oz is pretty close to 12 oz.
