Fosi Audio V3: A Budget Amplifier paired with really nice speakers?
I had been hearing about the release of this amp from various forums and decided to experiment with it with a couple of speakers that I have acquired Iโve the last 6 years I or so. Iโm a bargain hunter at heart. On one end, I have a pair of Klipsch LaScalaโs from the early 1980โs that I resurrected from the dead. They were in horrible shape and came from a church that used them as their auditorium PA. They are know for their efficiency and usually have synergies with tube amps. On the other end, I have the electrostatic Martin Logan ESLโs, which sound completely different, are very detailed and have a reputation of being challenging to drive, although the newer Martin Loganโs donโt have this problem as much. I have been using a 90 watt per channel tube integrated amp and was really looking for an amp that was much cleaner and imparted less distortion, which a tube amp for the most part is built to do. The tube amp sounds great but it seems to blur the sound a bit, if that makes sense. With the LaScalaโs, the V3 power was way more needed to drive them. It didnโt sound harsh or brittle and in fact, was completely quiet with the volume knob maxed. My tube amp imparts a slight hiss at the tweeter that is audible from my sitting position. The V3, checked all the boxes and did everything well. The highs and mids were nice and balanced and the biggest difference was with the low end. I have 2 SVS SB1000 subs and the V3 really provided nice and controlled texture to the bass region, something that was lacking in my tube amp. I wonโt go as far as using the magical language to describe the sound that many audiophiles use but as this is a subjective review, what I can say is that the amp did its job and at this price, it really is a no-brainer for people that even are wanting to use this will quality speakers. Martin Logan ESLโs Challenge: These speakers are known to have dynamic impedance swings, with ohms that often dip, making them a tough act for many amplifiers. But the Fosi V3 didnโt strain at all. It provided consistent power, ensuring the ESLโs remained articulate and expressive. Much better than my tube integrated. The dips in ohms which could cause some amplifiers to falter, only showcased the stability of the V3. Very surprising for the low cost. Again, what can I sayโฆthese small inexpensive amps have improved to the point where they are an incredible value. Conclusion: The Fosi Audio V3 isnโt just a budget amplifier. Itโs an amplifier that can be used with expensive speakers. For anyone hesitant to use the Fosi in similar use cases, give it a try. For the price, thereโs very little to lose.

Excellent Sound Quality and Fast Delivery!
Iโm very pleased with my Fosi Audio V3 amplifier! The build quality is excellent, with a solid, compact and elegant design. Despite its small size, it delivers impressive sound quality, with great clarity, detail and well-controlled bass. Paired with my ELAC bookshelf speakers, the V3 provides a wonderful stereo listening experience, exceeding my expectations. The ordering and delivery experience was equally impressive. The product arrived exactly as described, in perfect condition, well packaged, and even earlier than the estimated delivery date. Excellent product, great value for money, and reliable delivery. Highly recommended!

Excellent Beast of an Amplifier
Don't believe the 300 watt claims of the manufacturer. (I don't know why they just don't rate the amp with RMS real world specs). Still the Fosi Audio V3 is an excellent amplifier when paired with the optional 48V power supply, although it increases the cost. With the supplied stock power supply, the amp can deliver about 30 watts of real power and with the 48V power supply it can deliver about 80 watts of unadulterated bliss. The sound is clean with absolutely no hiss. You can tailor the sound by easily replacing the socketed OpAmps inside the amp, just make sure you insert them with the proper polarity. OpAmps can range from several to over a hundred dollars for a set. Better OpAMps can give you better depth and a wider sound stage as well as a mellower sound. Remember this is a no frills amplifier with only pair of inputs, it is basically a volume knob and nothing else. But this is perfect when used as a desktop amplifier to drive a pair of desktop speakers. In this mode of operation, you do not need the optional power supply since most desktop speakers are quite efficient and do not need much power. The 48V provides a more heft to the sound with the added power. It can easily deliver enough power to drive most speakers. With either power supply, the amp seems capable of driving even 4-ohm loads without distortion which most modern amps fail to do. Some Pros: * Cheap but great value * Compact size * Very efficient * Swappable OpAmps * High quality components: Elna capacitors, WIMA Output capacitors, Sumida inductors and NCC Capacitors Some cons: * Fosi used to supply the amp with the copper volume knob as well as the black one but it is now an added option. * The amp goes to sleep rather quickly after the input signal is cut. It takes about six seconds for it to come alive when signal is restored. * There is only one pair of RCA inputs * No Bluetooth capability * No subwoofer output

Good value that lives up to the hype.
I was skeptical about the hype surrounding this amp but after giving it a try its a definite keeper. A lot of reviews claim this is only for near field listening but I've been using it in a small dining room powering Klipsch RP160s and it is far more than adequate. I can hear it through the whole house. The amp is clean and quiet. It does not have that class-d hiss or hum which has led me to return every other class-D amp. I did upgrade to the 48v power supply. Yes there are some audible gains but it does make the amp run hotter. Most people would probably be happy with the 32v power supply that comes with it. With the 48v everything is just slightly better sound wise. I would also note that I have this paired with the matching Fosi P3 preamp and I am very happy with the pairing. The amp alone is very good but I feel like it is slightly better with the preamp and it adds tone controls. This is worth having even if you only use it as a backup amp when your main system breaks down. It's so small you can put it anywhere.

Sounds good, looks good, feels good, easy to upgrade, minimal amp
I've been listening on this for over a month paired with a behringer UMC404HD (connected to PC via USB) and Klipsch RP-500M II in a small room (10ft by 12ft). I'm playing music directly, not over Bluetooth, from Spotify on very high streaming quality (320kbit/s). To me it sounds as good or better than the SMSL AO200 I tried for a while (although the v3 doesn't have Bluetooth, EQ, remote, LCD screen, balanced outputs etc... I think most of the extra cost in the pricier class D amps is going to the extra features rather than improving the sound quality, but maybe I'm wrong about that). When I saw Fosi (which seems to be near the top, if not the top, of class D amp brands for quality and reliability) put out a new amp with all newly sourced parts, I couldn't pass up the chance to go minimal and give it a go. Then I swapped out the two TI NE5532p op amps for the Sparkos SS3602 discrete dual op amps, which was a breeze to do (see attached pictures, I suggest taking off the volume knob, face plate, and using a long allen wrench or skinny screwdriver to lever the IC chips up from below, and the dip socket riser and Sparkos pop right in with hardly any pressure and there is room to spare). I'd describe the difference as listening to a recording of a concert with the TI NE5532p vs. being at the concert with the Sparkos SS3602 (perhaps that's a bit drastic). How about with the Sparkos SS3602 it sounds like you're at the concert on the stage floor, not sitting in the upper level like the TI NE5532p. Or maybe you're waiting to get into the club and the music sounds really good (TI NE5532p) vs. you're on the club floor being hugged by sound (Sparkos SS3602). That's also probably too drastic. OK, my point is that I noticed a big difference, and I'm very satisfied with the upgrade! I love the nonlinear volume so I can get just the right volume sitting in near field. RP-500M II have sensitivity of 92dB@2.83V/1m, 75W/300W cont/peak at 8 Ohms. I'm usually listening at a distance between 4 to 8ft. I usually set the volume at 33% at 4ft and hit a max of 70dB, which is perfect. With the volume at 66% at 6ft/2m away, max dB is in the low 80s (which is just beyond comfortable for me). At 100% volume, it was maxing out at 88 dB with noticeable distortion (so there's room to spare above 66%, but I will never listen at these volumes). So I feel the v3 for my space and setup is perfect!

Very Good Class D Budget Amp
First, I'd like to correct one completely wrong review. They claim the default power supply with only provide 30 watts of power. This is incorrect on simple electrical values. 32 volts and 5 amps gives you 160 total watts, or 80 watts per channel. They did correctly state that you cannot get 300 watts per channel from this unit, even with the 48v 10 amp power supply. This will give you 480 watts total or 240 watts per channel. If you really think you need that much power for your speakers though, you're kidding yourself. Now, the unit itself provides a very nice and mostly balanced sound. Lows will be a bit forward though. It's definitely got some bass punch. If you pair it with one of Fosi's preamps with tone control, you can dial this in well enough. I honestly prefer a bit extra bass. I've been running this unit for about 8 months now with no issues. Great amp at a great price.

Clean Powerful And To The Point
Setting up a small DWS I needed an amp that was flat, clean, noiseless, and simple. The Fosi checks all those boxes. It is powerful enough to handle a worthy pair of studio monitors, and with the single on/off volume control, you can set it and forget it. Be advised that there are no tone controls or multiple speaker outputs.

You can't* go wrong with this one.
Overall Rating: 5/5 (4.5/5 but I had to round up) TLDR: If you want an stero amp that is a fantastic bang for your buck, this is the one. Only buy the 48v one if you're using it in a large room or with beefy speakers. Use: Desktop Nearfeild listening through a pair of JBL Studio Series S36ii Monitors Audio signal is fed from my 2025 MacBook Pro (Spotify & Tidal) Generic 16 gauge bonded wire (not specificaly speaker wire but same resistance) & Ugreen 3.5mm to RCA cable 32v 5A power supply (the smaller one) I've put this amp through my ususal tests with some songs I know very well (Teddy Killerz, KNOWER, Muse, Pendulum, Etc.) and it sounds very nice. It is a Class D amp so its lacking with the reproduction of ceritan sounds and the realy low frequencies but I have a sub hooked up to the pre-out now so my setup is full range now though it was very good even without a sub (mostly due to the S36ii's larger drivers). It's hard to go wrong with an amp like this. It's decently priced, Fosi is pretty reliable as a company, and it just works. One of my only gripes is the volume knob also being the power swich (turn the knob passed zero to turn off the amp), I would rather have a swich on the front so I can keep my volume setting the same. This is not a dealbreaker or a problem though as I will not be turning the amp off and on much. This is a Class D amp so its not true "audiophile grade" but if you don't have a whole room and multi thousand dollar setup for listening then I think you'll find this amp to be plenty good enough. If your use case is hole theater this is very good, the added power and compact size makes it great for larger rooms with wall mounted TVs. Not suitable for sourund though. There is a slight bit of hiss or static when adjusting the volume while no sound is being played, but it is not noticable while playing sound. I keep my MacBook's volume at 50% and use the knob to adjust the volume, I find that the knob between 10 and 2 o'clock si perfect. * If you have very small speakers or ones that are very easy to drive, do be careful not to pop them. This is a 300 watt amp (per channel). This amp would blow my S36iis at max power, so be cautious. Great amp, would buy again. - Darwin

SEMPLICEMENTE SORPRENDENTE !
STRACONSIGLIATO !!!

Excellent Budget Amplifier
The Fosi V3 Stereo Amplifiers are the most value of money stereo amplifiers available in the market right now. I was thinking of going for a Class AB Analog with Toroidal Setup, but this is much better in terms of efficiency, small footprint, ease of use, and output - Crystal Clear, lot of power for 6-8 ohms drivers. Both of them run at 32V 10A Power Supply and can get plenty loud without too much load dependency (Peaking) in my use case. This can be a true workhorse if you're using a dedicated 42V PSU. These can run all day without any hassle. Class D with a good implementation looks like this. Only missing PFFB which is available in the Mono Version which eliminates the load dependency issue.
