Powerful, super short read
STOLEN GIRLS tells the story of multiple different people, mainly women, who were kidnapped by the terrorist group Boko Haram. You might know the name from the story of the Chibok girls, 276 girls who were kidnapped from their school in April 2014 by the group. These stories are not those of the Chibok girls, though the girls do factor into some of the stories within this book. The stories are powerful and they are heartbreaking. I particularly liked how the author broke up the stories with an explanation of Boko Haram and how they have come into so much power in Nigeria. I may have been a bit confused without those explanations. My only criticism is that I think there were some weird translation issues (the original book was written in German), so there were a few passages of the history portions that were pretty confusing. **I received a free copy of this book as a partner of Literati book club**

The book is tragic and heartbreaking yet captivating. Thank ...
The book is tragic, heartbreaking, so powerful. The photos in the book are breathtaking, and I enjoyed how the book went between the girls telling their story in first person and giving background information on Nigeria and Boko Haram. Thank you to the author/translator and others involved in helping these women share their stories with the world.
