Anyone any idea how this compares to solgar formula vitamin b-complex "100" ? quality wise... are these food grade? thanks!

Hi, thanks for your question - we have had a look at the Solgar B-Complex formulas and offer some comparisons below. We have used the most bioavailable forms of vitamins in our Super B-Complex... for example, certain B-vitamins are better absorbed in their pre-methylated forms as these do not require the body to convert them to be useable.  Most importantly, we use folate in ours, not folic acid that is found in Solgar supplements. The safety of folic acid has actually been brought into question in recent years and we decided to reformulate our products in 2015 to move away from folic acid to folate, which is the superior form that is found naturally in the body. There are concerns about supplementing with folic acid, which itself has no biological function and is not well absorbed in the body.  As a result, folic acid can accumulate and this is when undesirable effects can arise. We use an especially absorbable form of folate (6S-5-methyltetrahydrofolate as Quatrefolic is even more bioavailable than standard folate!) that is also beneficial for those with certain genetic defects that influence folate metabolism. Since Quatrefolic is so bioavailable, there are no concerns with accumulation of unmetabolised folic acid. We also use the optimal form of B6 (pyridoxal-5 phosphate, which is the only form with cofactor activity), rather than the pyridoxine HCI used in the Solgar products, and our B12 is in the methylcobalamin form rather than cyanocobalamin.  Not only is methylcobalamin more bioavailable,  but it stays in the system longer than cyanocobalamin. I would also like to add that our vitamins are formulated at effective doses and we deliberately split dose our B Complex to increase B12 uptake and our slow release delivery ensures nutrient coverage throughout the day. All the ingredients used in Igennus products are pharmaceutical grade and manufactured under stricter guidelines than supplements of food grade quality. Hi Sebastjans, thanks for your query.  This product has been formulated as a split dose of two tablets per day to allow maximum absorption.  Per serving means 'per two tablets'.  Please see the nutritional information on the side of the pack for full details.
