Soft, lovely yarn for the experienced
Retro-Glam yarns are so soft, and the colors are scrumptious. My photo shows the colors Royal Purple, Bright Yellow and Rose Gold (the scarf). I’m making my mother-in-law an autumn themed shaw, and the subtle shine on this yarn is lovely. Do be forewarned that this fine, kinda fuzzy yarn is fiddly to work with - I wouldn’t recommend it for a beginner. It’s stronger than it looks and is very, very difficult to frog. I am not taking stars off for that, because it is the nature of this type of yarn.

Very Impressed
I haven't used this yarn, yet, but will be very soon for plastic canvas butterfly set of wall decorations. I purchased this multi-shade package and some additional purple. This yarn is prettier than it looks in the online pictures! It's shiny, but not "gaudy looking", very soft. It is thinner than a 4 ply worsted yarn, I'd say it could be used the same way as baby or sport weight yarn.

Beautiful but…
When complete it is beautiful. I used it for faux leaves for a hanging pot. The sheen and slight variation in color made it a perfect choice. The strands though are very ?? thready?? stringy?? They are slick and separate while using. It’s a little frustrating.

Interesting yarn
I'm a bit of a fiber snob and this is the first synthetic yarn I've bought in a very long time. I just couldn't resist the shininess of it for how reasonable the price was. So, here are some thoughts from a fiber snob. Ply - I would not call this a single-ply yarn as it does on the label. The shiny core (which is the acrylic part of the yarn, I'm assuming) is very much a chainette - it's effectively a woven tube. If you use a small crochet hook, you should be prepared to deal with this yarn being a bit "splitty". Constructing the yarn this way adds weight without adding bulk, which is probably why some other reviewers have complained about it seeming thinner than a DK. Weight - Wrapping the yarn around my hook or squishing a strand between my fingers, it feels like a fingering weight yarn. But without crushing the chainette core and leaving it to bounce up on its own, it does look like a DK. I think it's quite nice that it looks like a thick yarn when it's actually lightweight and very squishy. But I can see it being difficult for beginners to work with because your gauge will feel very off. Texture - Compared to common wool yarn, this definitely feels fuzzier and softer, and it doesn't have the scratchiness that wool can have. I'd compare this to a mohair blend yarn. It feels pretty good, especially for the price. Color - The "olive green" is very vibrant and mossy; I've uploaded a video to show how the it shines under a sunny window and under ceiling lights as well. Playing around with the yarn a bit, the colored fibers haven't shed at all, but I haven't worked with it a ton yet. It's gonna be a while until I get around to working with this yarn but I'm excited. It's a pretty cool yarn.

A touch of patience is needed
The yarn is very thin. It is very much like working with fuzzy thread. The color is beautiful and rich and it makes super soft fabric. I have made it work for my intended project by doubling it up. Working with this yarn is going to take patience, but the quality and softness is worth it for me.

Very Disappointed !!!
I have purchased dozens of this yarn for the past couple of years, most of their colors. Lately, in the past month or so, they do NOT make the right material... pearl white or metallic purple are NOT the same !!! They both do NOT have the shiny, sparkling look anymore and the material is much thicker. I have started a few projects with crochet, but now i have to return the yarn over and over, because i can NOT continue to finish what i started due to the difference in the yarn! I am extremely Disappointed, and i hope they will fix those issues very soon. It is NOT fair... this yarn is expansive as it is!!! It also has too many knots inside, plus it becomes extremely think to the point that it breaks very easily... and it gets so thick that i can Not even continue with my crochet! NOT fair at all!!! PLEASE, fix those issues ASAP ! PLEASE!!!

Gorgeous color and sheen
Great value for this multi pack, and the jewel colors are amazing! Since it is a 3DK thickness, I used a two strand approach with the baby blanket I made. I used a simple V stitch crochet pattern, and I am just in love with the teal blue. It is a color that would be appropriate for both boys and girls, reminds me of a peacock feather or the scales of a mermaid. So gorgeous in the sunlight. Since this yarn is thinner than worsted weight, it drapes very nicely. If you are a beginner crochet practitioner, you might expect the first few rows to be challenging. It does tangle easily which makes it difficult to pull out stitches that are incorrect. I would suggest using a very simple stitch pattern if you are not used to working with a three DK weight yarn. I am also waiting on an order of this yarn in the rose red color, I am planning to crochet a hummingbird in the amigarumi style.

Really 4.5 stars, but...
Everyone who has seen and touched this yarn raves over it. They are not yarnies, however. I think it is beautiful, it knits and crochets up well, but as a roving yarn, it may not wash and wear well without extra care. Also, the red yarn is a bit washed out, not as vibrant as the other colors, and also a bit thinner (perhaps I got a bad batch?) Nevertheless, I have reordered several times. The olive green is stunning! I am using this yarn to make Christmas ornaments, thus I am not worried about wearability. The yardage is good value, and I have not found that the yarn tangles when drawing from the skein center. Retro-glam does not split easily.

This yarn is soft - I thought the gloss would make it feel straw-like- but no! Crochets like a dream. Colour is saturated and vibrant. Just love this!

I have only just started using this yarn (made myself a test swatch) and am very excited to turn it into a cardigan. It is very soft, and the colour is gorgeous. It's the thinnest yarn I've ever worked with (I'm a new knitter, and have mostly used worsted yarn) so I'm a little scared I'll manage to break it somehow, but that's a me-problem, not a yarn-problem!

Using this for a special project and it is perfect. Making a knit Deku mask! Then silver stars for a knit black hat.
