one of the best expanders I have ever used in my almost 20 year refrigeration journey

Edit: This tool has a cheat technique available for 3/8 and 5/16 or even 1/4...swage your fitting halfway or so, then release the expander head to normally closed, then rotate entire tool 1/8 or 1/4 turn and finish your swage. This rotate technique has been most useful to avoid splitting 3/8, 5/16, and even 1/4! This tool earns 5 stars honestly, and has saved my butt on more than one compressor install, especially in tight spaces like reach in coolers/freezers. Being able to control which end to braze is also a huge plus. Original review: Splits 3/8 copper almost every time, even with a light inside ream and no chamfer. Leaves a slight octagonal/hexagonal inside impression on the tubing no matter what size attachment...and no, I don't crank hard on the handle. Everything else works well, although I use the 7/8, 3/4 and 5/8 attachments almost exclusively. Finally gave up on the 3/8 attachment today, it's easier to just grab a coupler. This is a rugged and well made tool, and comes with the price tag to match. Is it worth the money? I suppose it would pay itself off after a few hundred installs. We'll see if it lasts that long. Cost wise, it's expensive. If I were an installer all day every day, I'm sure I would be saving time with this tool around. Ironically, if I were an installer, I wouldn't spare the beer money to buy this thing.
