Wow! Wonderful book. Every believer in Christ should and needs to read this book. Great details, representation of the texts and wonderful context that will be sure to bring fresh insight to your studies and journey.

I enjoyed the book very much. It gives enough scholarly info and language for the reader to search it out, but also enough general language to keep us reading. I feel I was able to grasp a much clearer understanding of the times of Jesus and the disciples, and the opposition, and the cost of believing in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Greater appreciation of the ”keepers” of this doctrine. I really enjoyed it!

Great book I bought it in used conditions so it's a little iffy on the binder but still good enough to read

I heard this author speak on Bema Podcast. I was so impressed with the content of that episode, I went and bought this book. Unbelievably comprehensive, thorough, and easy to read. The language is not dense, as so many textbooks are. It was an amazing price for the quality and quantity of what you get. Lots of pictures, comprehension questions at the end of each section, well organized. Love it! Bought one for my daughter because she's not getting mine.

Bought this a number of months ago and it’s an excellent introduction to NT study aside the reading of scripture. Not sure why its price is over double what it was then! Look elsewhere if possible for around $35!

This is a really fine resource. The book is filled with well presented, clear factual historical data, laid out in an easy to read format.

I can’t find any point to criticise in this book except that I read through this book much sooner than I thought I would. This is a very accessible book for the laity and casual readers. The authors are great scholars and I am familiar with some of their more advanced works and commentaries. I am delighted to see how they crystallised such an enormous NT socio-political and background information is such a thin volume of just about 600 pages and stuffed it with hundreds of beautiful and topical illustrations.
