Love the led lights. They are very bright but with the app they dim a lot. The colors are very pretty. I would recommend these only if you have the app though because only it does all the other features and you can make custom colors.

This is the only moderately priced gift I can think of that works for teens, kids, boys or girls...they all love these things! My kids, their friends and my nieces and nephews all love these lights. They've used them to decorate their bedrooms, play rooms, and even a home gym. They are so easy to put up and you can use them in a variety of ways. I've seen them used all different ways...up around the ceiling and/ or floor perimeter of the room, around windows/door frames, on the back of the tv so it looks like it's glowing from behind and on the underside of the bed frame...the possibilities are endless-lol! Unfortunately, the first set I bought for one of my kids was made by a different company and we couldn't connect the strings of lights without buying separate connectors. This was super annoying since the set came with multiple light sets and we didn't realize it was lacking the essential connectors until we had already put up the first string of lights. When that set finally got up, some of the lights didn't work, resulting in a very disappointed kid. Bought this set to replace it and it was perfect, went up easy peasy and has worked great ever since. I've bought numerous sets since then for others and they've been a hit every single time.

I purchased 3 sets of the 25ft set since each set was less than $8 so I wasn't expecting much but these blew me away! The intent was to add these to the inside of some Lego buildings to illuminate the insides (I have over 30 buildings sitting on the self). Since these LED strips can be cut, I figured that between three sets, I would enough working LEDs to light up most of the buildings. I only need white for daytime and a pale yellow for evening to showcase the buildings. The LEDs are working exceedingly well - the color/temperature is perfect. I can also control the brightness with what I believe is 5 different levels. Again, perfect for my needs. Some comments have complained that the LEDs are far apart from each other. While this is true, this is what I was looking for so for me, this wasn't a con but a pro. PROS: * has an app that works (Android at least) well (the name of the app is hard to remember though) * The app contains the essential features I need (brightness and temperature) * Has reaction to sound which is cool but won't be used for my project unless my Lego people want to have a block party. Hmmm... :) * Not tested but it appears the app can control multiple light strands. You can also assign the strands into groups and control the group which would make managing larger setups easier. CONS (are only with the app - the light strips are great): * The app can do a lot but for my first time dealing with LED and an LED app, I found it confusing. For example, why do I need to upload an image as a background for the app? Doesn't make sense to me, I'm not spending a lot of time in the app so I don't need that level of customizations. * I can change the colors displ row but A) don't know why I would want to B) I can't seem to return the settings to default

Our apartment gets very little natural light and the built-in lighting is...well...putrid. So we bought about 6 of these buggers to try and get some atmosphere in here. It took a whole lot of jerry-rigging to get them into all the places we needed them to be - the self-adhesion fell down after a couple of hours, tops. Ended up using clear tacks to pin it up to the wall and literally stitched them around the bottom edge of the couch for some accent lighting. That said, the remote works well. The app, to be sure, is the preferred method to operate them. Very responsive, very little latency. Sometimes the bluetooth is a little wonky, but usually just doing a lap around the apartment gets them all connected so we can control them all from wherever. (The remote has to be pointed directly at the receiver box to work, unlike the app). The microphone/song sync setting on the app is janky. Not suitable for house parties but fun if you want to startle people with the sudden, abrupt, flashing lights across the color spectrum. TLDR; Cons: -Won't stick to a dang thing on their own. -Remote has to be in line with the box to work. -Not as bright as some other models. Pros: -App works well w/ low latency. -Color range is crisp & vibrant -Lower cost than other models. -Cheap & easy way to add small accent lighting to a space.

Update: dimmer can go very low on all colors with the (V-) button, one more star for that. Perfect for ambiance in my childrens bedroom. It can not be used as night light, the dimmer cannot go low enough.

Great product, no issues at all for me. Wanted 75ft for a room in the basement, perfect result

Terrible product. First it isn't 75', its 3 sections of 25' and it doesn't come with RGB connectors. Second the adhesive lasted about 9 hours before large sections started to come off. Serious waste of money and resources.
