Coffee on the Rocks (or Sandstones)
I have had these coasters for about 2 months now and use them every day. These are great coasters for my desk. They look good, they work as expected, and they don’t mark up my desk. I keep several types of beverages on my desk throughout the work day. Mornings is always a hot cup of coffee in a conventional coffee mug, lunch time is usually an iced drink, in the afternoons a hot cup of tea, and I always have a bottle of water. These stones fit the bill perfectly. If you are looking for super absorbent coasters then look elsewhere, these are porous stones, and they hold a limited amount of fluid. When my iced drink sweats I can see a ring of moisture developing on the stone, but I have never had the stone leak water onto my desk. I keep a professional appearance in my office and these stones are certainly attractive looking and don’t distract for the clean orderly way I like my office (much better than the folded napkins I was using). I like the pink sandstone look, not too pink. The grains of the stone are very nice, one of my stones has a little swirl in it, all of them are “flawed” in some way, but that adds to the natural look. It actually complements the wood grain of my desk nicely despite the contrasting colors of the pinkish coaster and my dark wood desk. They aren’t very heavy so you can easily slide them around your desk, the cork under the stone protects my desk surface from scratching. Also they aren’t so light that you might accidentally pick them up with your cup should they stick due to moisture, this is a common issue which fabric and plastic type coasters. Negatives, one of my coasters has developed a dark ring after repeatedly using the same coaster with a sweaty iced drink over several weeks. The only reason I can notice it is because I looked for discoloration before writing this review, I don’t really consider it an issues. They may also be prone to breaking if you dropped them on a hard surface, I dropped one from about 3 feet onto my carpeted floor and it was fine. I also feel the picture of the coaster that Thirsty Stone put on the product page may be a little misleading to some buyers. The images shows a sandstone coaster with several swirls in the stone, this is unlikely to be the case on the stones you buy and wasn’t on the ones I received. My coasters have a few swirls here and there but are mainly straight grains, doesn’t bother me, it is what I expected. I would definitely buy these again if there was a reason to. And, I would recommend them to coworkers that have expressed interest, but I like being the only one with these coasters, so I just smile and say thanks when they complement them.

Great coasters!
I've gone through a lot of wood and cork coasters and silicone and felt coasters looking for something I like that won't cause a mess from sweating glasses. These are the best! They will soak up a ton of moisture from a glass of ice water in the southern heat and humidity with no problem. They do need to be allowed to dry out between uses or they might develop a mildew ring under the glass. They can be cleaned but you probably want to avoid getting the cork bottom soaked while cleaning. I love the natural look with no embellishments, but I'm sure the ones with designs are just as functional if that's more your thing.

Don't Expect What The Image Shows But Great Product
Overview: Works well and withstands the test of time Pros: Absorbs Moisture: Believe it or not this stone sucks up moisure and protects furnitiure. It really does take up all the condensation Looks Good: The thing looks good while doing it's job. This is the important part: I have bought stone coasters before and once they suck up moisture they start to leave weird stains. These have been spilled on, used for about a year and still look good. Cleans Well: These have had wine, coke, juice, etc spilled and after running under water still look great Cons Consistency/Advertising: If you're expecting the product to look like the picture you're going to be disappointed. In fact if you're looking for really nifty looking patterns on each coaster you're going to be disappointed. Many of them have no pattern at all or just one or two veins running through them.

Love the coasters
I love these coasters, have been buying them for years. My issue this time is not with the coasters, but with the way they were shipped. When I got them, the box that the coasters are in was ripped, and 1 of the coasters was chipped on the edge. I'm talking the actual product box, not the Amazon box it was sent in. It's like someone tried to open it by ripping the box. Makes me wonder if I got a set that was returned, but I paid full price. That being said, the chip does not alter the coasters appearance or usability, so I will keep them. It's just disappointing it was allowed to be sent in that condition, especially for the price.

Real natural stone ABSORBS! - beautiful cinnamon color
Exactly what I wanted - natural sandstone. No fake picture glued to the front; this is the real thing. It absorbs quite a bit of condensation, as opposed to the condensation just sitting on top of the coaster. Also, it is heavy enough that it (almost) always stays put instead of sticking to a glass when one picks it up. I have had it lift a few times when it was soaked and there was still a lot of water on it. I drink tons of ice water. I have had sandstone coasters before and I ROTATE them so as to not allow them to stay wet. That can cause a dark circle that may be semi-permanent or permanent (mold? mildew? simple discoloration). NOTE: I have NOT had these do that, but I do rotate them - have 3 on my desk for near constant use. Probably one is good for 2 - 3 hours. Great color - name is appropriate - a cinnamon type tone. Cork on back protects furniture. Some have complained about chips along edges. I have to look hard to find a blemish on mine - maybe 1 or 2 less than 1/32 inch ? It's natural. Not a problem for me anyway. But no noticeable nicks. Some complain of them scratching furniture. I suppose that could be a problem. My furniture is natural / oil finish - so whenever there is a scratch from whatever source - a quick oil wipe fixes it. The cork bottom won't scratch, but if layed down at an angle and the bottom edge of the stone touches the furniture first with any pressure or movement, it's very possible. Stone = conglomerated sand = sandpaper. Will definitely get these again if still available when these wear out/ break. Best way I've found to absorb condensation here in the humid south.

perfect!
I have used these things for years and consider them well worth the money. It's highly unlikely that you will pick up your glass only to find out the hard way that the coaster stuck and gave you a bath. They are heavy and don't slide around either. They absorb a lot of water and while I have on a few occasions changed to a dry coaster because the one I was using finally looked too wet, I have never had one soak thru and ruin my wood furniture. Everyone likes them, they do make a great gift. They last a long time and you can clean them but do it carefully, you don't want to get the cork bottom wet. I take a soft old toothbrush and a drop of gentle soap to the wet surface and gently scrub, rinse well and blot the surface to get extra water off. I leave them to dry out for a while, then they are good to go. With normal use and no colorful spills you won't need to clean them too often.

Oh yeah~~ Just what I was looking for
Very very good coasters, oh man! I love these. They look cool, they feel cool. They are cool. :) They only slightly absorb the condensation from a cold drink sitting on top of them, which is good that they don't stain but also don't build up the condensation and let it run off onto the table/surface the coaster in on. These are quite a good size too, in my opinion, fitting quite a large mug on them just barely. Very good for day to day use and quite presentable to guests. The top of the coaster has enough friction that your cup will not move easily at all and the bottom of the coaster, THANK GOD, has cork, which is softer than other coasters meaning you can't move the coaster easily on accident when picking up your cup but also can move if you push it gently to another location on your table/surface. I highly recommend these!!
