Loctite Naval Jelly Rust Dissolver, 8 fl oz, Bottle

I grabbed this for my tiny dorm tool kit because the metal bed frame and my old bike both had gross rust spots. First time i used it was on the bed frame joint that squeaked like crazy. I brushed a little on, waited, then wiped and most of the rust was just gone. The squeak calmed down a lot so my roommate stopped giving me side eye every time i moved. It smells kind of strong so I just opened the window and it was fine. I like that I dont need any fancy tools, just gloves and paper towels and it works well for random dorm fixes.

When my son told me this product is what I needed for my cars rust I ordered it almost immediately. Follow the directions on the bottle and the rust will vanish away! One application was all I had to do for rust starting on the inside panel of my drivers door. As rust returns you just apply the product again. This product is amaZing!

I bought this for my home office chair base, not a car. The metal around one wheel started to rust and I did not want it staining my light rug. I put on gloves, brushed off the loose rust, then wiped this on like the bottle says. The brown spots turned dark and stopped spreading, which is exactly what I wanted. A week later I rolled the chair around and nothing flaked off on the floor. That small thing made me really glad I tried it at home instead of dragging the chair to a shop.

This stuff works but I would use it on slightly rusty things and not heavily rusted.

Hope the rust wouldn't come back. This was my attempt #3. Previously I was applying rust oleum primer (rust converter one). Still rust returned after 1 month. So now I added location step . Make sure you follow sequence (wash/sand/wash/de-grease/dry/loctite/rinse/dry/primer) . After that I waited couple of days. Inspect the surface. Re-sand if necessary (in my case it was : TOUCH SANDING DARK SPOTS). Reapply Loctite again. RINSE/DRY/DEGREASE/DRY/ PRIMER. Wait couple of days. Reinspect - paint...

The brown rust turns this grayish color and comes off way easier after. It smells kind of strong, so I open the window and it is fine. One night I used it on my desk chair legs before my roommate’s parents visited and the metal actually looked decent. The small bottle is enough for random repairs but still fits in my storage bin.
