Great book set

From my 11 year old son, "This is book set is perfect for kid age 10-12 who are interested in mythical creatures and fantasy. I love the set. The fifth book, The wrath of Mulgarath, was my favorite."

Arrived early! Great quality books. I wanted to reread the spiderwick books since I liked them so much as a kid. I had no idea there were 3 more to the series until I saw this set.

Spiderwick is good stuff. There was a review about Spiderwick being great for kids but not adults... huh? I read some heavy material, and I thought Spiderwick was fascinating. Light, enjoyable reading for anyone from 7 to 70! The Spiderwick books read like a journal converted to a story. The stories are short, easy on the eyes and mind, and very entertaining. The vocabularly is not dumbed down too much; there are some challenging words and passages for young readers. Highly recommended for kids starting to broaden their reading skills and kids who enjoy fantasy elements. This boxed set is a good buy: the box, binding, and books are solid and compact; the set will easily fit under a ten inch shelf. The books are small hardcovers with detailed artwork, drawings, and parchment-style paper. Oh, and if the movie was interesting to you or your kids, the books will be a zillion times more entertaining.

I bought as a gift to my Grandson, who is an avid reader. He loved the series. He read the entire series in 3 days. Couldn't put it down

This was a great purchase for a two-day road trip with the kids (8 and 10 years old)! It held their attention as the miles peeled away, and mine as well. I've read a lot of science fiction and fantasy novels over the years, and this is a great fantasy series for ages 7 through 12, I'd say. Mark Hamill does a great job reading, providing different voices for the numerous different types of characters -- goblins, elves, dwarves, trolls, etc. It includes 5 CD's, each lasting about an hour. The only complaint I have is that somehow Chapter 1 is left off the beginning of disc 5!! (Which is why I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars). Not a complete deal breaker -- it's easy enough to get back into the story line, but definitely a huge oversight by the publisher! Otherwise, highly recommended!!

This series is 100% worth the read. It's fantasy with a heavy focus on the magical creatures encountered. A fun series to gift to young readers (I'd say 8-12), but the books are still enjoyable for an easy-read as an adult.

I bought this Spiderwick Chronicles set from seller MjTreasuresCT in "condition: used, good" but actually it should be "very good". Great condition, super clean, almost like they've never been read before. The slipcase with minimal wear. A great addition to my collection. The story is great, the artwork is perfection. I can't wait to see what the 20th anniversary edition is going to look like!

Het zijn leuke boeken om te lezen. Misschien voor de tieners geschreven, maar doordat het in het Engels is, is het niveau goed genoeg voor mij. Ook leuke illustraties, wat het lezen aangenaam maakt.

Esse é o novo box da série As Crônicas Spiderwick, comemorativo de 20 anos de lançamento da série. Além do marrom, existe uma outra versão edição, também comemorativa, que é a na cor verde. Nela, o acabamento é o chamado "paper over board" (papel sobre cartão), que é basicamente como a versão antiga dos livros, onde não existe uma jacket/sobrecapa e a arte é impressa direto na capa dura. Esse box marrom é a versão em capa dura com jacket. No caso as artes das capas são impressas em sobrecapas removíveis, e por baixo a capa dura é simples em preto e cinza com detalhes dourados na lombada. Eu optei por essa edição marrom simplesmente pelo preço mais barato na época em que apareceu no site (consegui arrematar ele por R$469 no preço de pré-venda mais barato). Eu estava com medo de não gostar do acabamento por baixo da jacket, mas quando vi pessoalmente amei todos os detalhes e a surpresa de como todo lindo parecendo livros antigos. Perfeito! Super recomendo a compra pra quem é colecionador e pra quem vai ter o primeiro contato com a série agora. Nestes novos boxes de 20 anos estão reunidos os 8 volumes do universo da série, 3 deles anteriormente publicados como a trilogia "Beyond the Spiderwick Chronicles", que agora estão numerados como volumes 6, 7 e 8.

Getting all 5 books neatly packed in a box was a blessing. Our 10 year old son could not resist reading 1 book after the other. And now his classmates are also borrowing the set and are hooked on to Spider Wick. A must read for kids.
