Carolina Plantation Charleston Gold Rice, 32 Oz

This is truly heirloom gold rice. Has more flavor than regular grocery store rice. Worth the price.

I had read about this rice, and really wondered if it was worth the price. The texture and flavor are amazing. I love it as a dude with just a little butter. Worth every penny.

I am not a white rice eater. But I saw this on a cooking show and thought I'd order it. It was more expensive but a little goes a long way. I keep the rest in the freezer. It has a great taste not like regular white rice. And so every so often, even though I'm diabetic, I make some of this for myself. And for me to like this white rice that's saying something!

I had read up on Gullah cooking and came across this rice. Out of curiosity I bought it, stored it in the freezer as suggested, then cooked it up the first opportunity rice became a component of our dinner. It cooked up easily and was tasty. I would say that I overcooked it a bit so it didn't fluff up. But it is tasty. The next morning I cooked it up with eggs, again tasty. I need to make it one more time before I decide to buy it again ... it was a bit expensive.

This is seriously superior rice grown in South Carolina. I treat myself to this rice, especially when making a recipe in which rice is the star!

This is expensive rice but I’d read about it in cooking blogs & cookbooks & I’m a Southerner so I decided to try it. Pros- I like the packaging from an aesthetic point of view. Old times feeling fabric bag with a nice logo. Cons- You can’t close the bag once it’s opened. Add a drawstring so it could have life after the rice is decanted! The rice itself didn’t have anything special to make me choose it again. Stored (briefly) in the freezer in a vacuumed bag. Cooked using package directions & a rice cooker. Flavor? Meh. Fluffiness & individual grains? Nope. Stuck to the non stick pan? Yep. Usually I buy another brand (starts with an L) which is consistently good in all varieties. I’m sad because I wanted it to be special. Either I got bad bag or there’s a lot of *hype* out there to sell this brand.
